Design of Colorful Kitchens
If you like cooking, you must hope to own a unique and chic kitchen. But how to decorate it? Which dominate hue do you want to take as kitchen color? Here are several pictures of colorful kitchen design for your reference. You may find one you like best. How about this lime-colored one? It looks clear and fresh, comfortable as well.
Lime and Turquoise Kitchen
Designer Jonathan Adler used fabric in lime green and dishware in blue throughout this kitchen in fashion designer Liz Lange’s Westchester home. Cabinets from Ikea are topped with marble countertops. “I think Ikea is a treasure,” he says. “You can get a kitchen that looks this fabulous and not spend squillions.”
Nantucket Kitchen
The star of this kitchen designed by Frank Roop is the backsplash of variegated handmade glass tiles that are reminiscent of the ocean. The bleached rift oak island is custom-colored a driftwood gray-blue.
Vintage Meets Modern
With modern amenities and vintage touches, this kitchen has old pendant light fixtures, no-fuss zinc countertops, and chairs rescued from a friend’s basement and painted a sunshiny yellow. Designed by Ruthie Sommers.
Robin’s-Egg Blue Kitchen
This white kitchen is classic and clean, but what makes it interesting is the pop of robin’s-egg blue on the walls. Perfect for springtime or any time of year.
A Kitchen of a Different Color
“I wanted this jolt of color to emphasize that the kitchen is the joyful heart of the house,” says designer Christina Rottman. To achieve it, a blackened umber glaze was applied to the cabinets, then painted over with a turquoise glaze. Buffing, stippling, and scraping gave the cabinets a timeworn look. Countertops are limestone.
